Welcome to the WeMesh-CFM Remesher! Below you will find information about WeMesh-CFM, instructions on how to use the WeMesh-CFM, and a submission form. Our team hopes you find the WeMesh-CFM helpful whether it's for research, an individual project, or just for fun!
The WeMesh-CFM is a program written in IDL and python to create a user friendly experience allowing for a previously limited fault model, to be edited for specific needs. The mesh can be made to a user chosen resolution and the faults can be cut to a preferred depth. For more detailed information about the CFM Remesher, please reference the abstract. For more specific information about the model itself, please visit the SCEC website.
1) Go to the CFM Viewer on the SCEC website.
2) Select the fault(s) you desire to have remeshed and download the metadata.
3) If you want to pick the specific depth and mesh size for your faults you will need to edit the CSV metadata file, otherwise skip this step. On your metadata file, add three columns at the end titled max z, min z, and mesh. Then in the corresponding rows below input your desired minimum and maximum depth in meters. And enter your desired mesh size. It will look something like the photo below.
4) Upload the CSV file to the submission form below.
5) When the fault(s) have been remeshed, you will recieve an email notification where you can download the STL and CAE files for the remeshed fault(s).
Please watch the video below to see how to use the CFM Remesher in more detail.
